Save the Cheerleader Save the World?

Well my friends apparently we have lost this epic battle, I take this stance because I have seen several social media posts that have stated if Narcan had been present, Hayden Panettiere, a young and very troubled actress might have survived. I tend to agree but let’s really dig into to that for a minute, that means someone would have to care, right? Your so-called party friends or family members would have to over look all of the issues and addictions and realize that you are going to be who you are and have it on hand for when that tragic day happens. Yes, while Narcan can save your life, who will be there to inject it? Who will be that Superman to save you? The one not par taking and partying with you?

If you surround yourself with enablers it is likely that they are are simply on the same path as you, and no one is actually driving the bus. While they may be lucky and survive this time, they may not next time. It can be over and over again in repeating patterns from Matthew Perry to Amy Winehouse and while you go to rehab the beast will live with in you and never really sub side. I watch a show a modern day version of Matlock where Katy Bates character is seeking justice for her daughter she lost due to an opioid addiction. There is a scene where she goes to her grandson’s estranged father’s apartment with Narcan and states “if you are going to use I will be here with this, to bring you back since you are all my grandson has left.” While she does not agree with what he is doing, and wants him to quit, she is aware of what will could happen since her own daughter died from her addiction.

I do find the tag line of “Save the Cheerleader Save the World” a chilling prophecy in light of Hayden Panettiere’s recent passing. Maybe if we could save the cheerleaders so to speak we could save the world; however I think this world is headed down a unrighteous path where big pharma does not care about the world anymore; and has not cared for a very long time. I also find it very interesting that not long after Matthew Perry wrote his tell all book talking about his addictions and battles he also overdosed in his Jacuzzi, is this a pattern? Do they just want to be heard, tell their side of story, have one last party and end it all? Maybe the answers are all inside of the books, or the portions that got edited out that we will never see; but was a cathartic release for those troubled souls to write and release. Personally I would love to see the unedited portions of those books, but that is just me. Maybe the entire was simply written from his therapist notes or by dictation I don’t really know but it would have been interesting to know the behind the scenes portion of it.

Over the years I have actually lost several friends to drug addiction, and that number keeps growing on daily basis. I look on social media and see another high school friend or neighbor that has “passed unexpectedly” translation they overdosed, but that is too crass to put in the news. You read in the comment section “Did the coroner check between their toes?” Now we all know what that means they don’t want tracks on their arms because that shows up on ” the business men” so they shoot up between their toes where the shoes and socks will cover it. Only your doctor, podiatrist or nail tech would know. Believe me those nail techs they know just by the smell of your nails, as they grind them down they can smell in the dust; heck your nails and hair are how they test for it, why do think Brittney Spears shaved her head? This is all common knowledge, so if it show up in the test their imagine the smell when you hair gets wet or someone is working on your nails….think people! But see addicts don’t think they can barely function on a daily basis, that is a prime difference. That is why you hear things like mental health is on rise, it is and addiction falls into a segment of that category.

The world is a different place cold heartless and once you a hooked your done. It is not the world the hippies and boomers grew up in things today are so much stronger or are laced with toxins that can kill you on contact so getting a clean high is no longer on table. You take a chance every single time. New things like the popular gas station Kratom which is currently sold legally as replacement or substitute for pain killers or opioids are killing people faster and lead to cardiac arrest. You can purchase them with your regular gas fill up, along with a Big Glup and king sized candy bar, using your credit card and no one will ever be the wiser, crazy right?

While I know this is a dark musing, I feel like it needs to be explored. I once took a stance to legalize it all and just let the asshats that what to take this crap figure it out, survival of the fittest. Now I watch people drive through red lights and have head on collisions all probably under the influence but it does not seem like the DUI’s are being issued or stopping it from killing those which are not under the influence. They are actually out numbering the sober people and killing them, almost like a zombie apocalypse of sorts. No one wants to feel any pain, or feel anything any more. No emotions. No feelings. No drama. No love. Just Nothing. Numbness. We are slowly becoming nothing….. and people are okay with it. Are you okay with it?

Hold My Pom Poms,
