There has been a lot of talk about data centers lately so you better bet you ass I am gonna muse about it. People everywhere are just bitching about them all the time. “Stop the data centers, we don’t need more data center, they are using up all our water“… and they are not wrong, but do you stream movies? Do you have a smart phone? Where exactly do you think all of that “data” is being stored? As they write their anthems to save the water on social media, and how much is being wasted in doing so? I think…. fucktard, your post is going right into a DATA CENTER! Everything goes into a data center these days medical records, government public records, large corporation business records, anything associated with the cloud people it is housed in a data center somewhere. Social media like Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok; yes every time you stream a YouTube video to watch someone make dirty sink pasta, or put a fist full of kazoos on their wife’s car exhaust- like a jackass.
This problem is a not getting any smaller by the day, and is an Indiana Jones sized boulder rolling down a hill. Just think about how much stuff you have in memory storage just on your phone, now your computer. Do you a GIG, maybe Terra Bite? I know I switched up just recently on my phone gig were to small I now wander around with a mini computer with Terra Bites in my pocket. Now think how many people are in your family 3, 4, 5? Now that is just your home and the phone storage, let’s add in your computers. Think about how much your family streams on all your TV’s in a month….. now figure that up for a year. Yeah there is a math problem for you. Maybe we should just park a data center at the end of your “Pig Ass” street for all you oinkers. Go ride a bike or something…a real bike not those crappy E-bikes, don’t get me started on that topic.
How much water does it take to cool down these data centers you ask? Thousands of gallons per second coming out of your county water supply. Thirsty yet? Wonder why your water tastes like shit? Yes the company could actually cool the data centers in other ways not using water; however those ways are much more expensive in installation and upkeep…..so of course they will always pick the cheaper way which is water cooled. It is all about the fiscal bottom line. They will also always choose the cheapest land, not the land with cooler climate temperatures, which would help to keep the data centers cooler to begin with, no lets put them in a desert or the middle of flat farmland in hot southern regions or the mid-west. Yes they do prefer flat areas for building purposes, and near existing water is even better. So if you notice a lot of “forest fires” cropping up in areas like that then the land sells, see if a data center goes in….just some food for thought.
Here is another fun factoid most people never research that jump on the bandwagon of data centers it is one of the US’s #1 exports, meaning we house other countries shit. That’s right, let that sink in for a minute. We are ruining our water, our resources to house other countries data for them at a price, and for the power leverage it gives us. So while we are not building them properly, or maybe we are selling land to foreign investors for them to build data centers over here which ruins our green spaces. Think hunger games….. which colony are we again? Which one are we becoming?
So one has to ask as we have become so very dependent on our phones, computers, electronics devices how can we possibly keep up? I think back to when I was a kid which was not that long ago, or maybe it was as the years keep flying by…. but we did not have anything of these things. No data centers, computers had just came into existence, there was no internet, television was only live no streaming. However, we also had a hole in our Ozone from too much hairspray, which was going to destroy us and now due to proper legislation it has been reversed. Maybe that is what needs to happen now, proper legislation over the data centers and how they are run, cooled and bigger focus on the water supply since it is limited.
Just Keep Scrolling, It’s Fine, We Are All Fine.….
