The Future Is Not So Bright

I know, I know, I am going to sound like a broken record; but the future is all we have. I recently heard that those looking toward the future have a strong faith and want to believe in tomorrow. Lately I have begun to think the future is not as bright as I once thought it was, or maybe experience has shown me that our youth really is just a box of duds. Parents I think we did a bad job, and we should really own it. The next generation of Millennials really suck, and I was very hopeful for GEN Z, but now I am quickly losing hope for them as well; and honestly I have become disappointed in the Boomers lately too. Maybe it is just early onset dementia, hopefully?

Why? I don’t know maybe it is a mixture of lazy teaching from parents and the crap teachers which are mostly Millennials now, and we know they suck. What I do know? Well that the “new” math is not working out for them at all, as I have found myself having to explain how to do basic math to more cashiers than I care to count, on how to give change at a cash register. Dear God my generation, GEN X, learned this crap in kindergarten people! Now if the computers goes down, well that’s all folks our society can not operate at all, no math skills, no way to process a purchase, no over riding the system. We are way too reliant on computers for everything. I have decided we have no skills at all, except maybe looking at our phones, and siding our fingers across a screen.

This is very common these days, the future generation is very complacent. They give stupid answers like; “This is what the computer says I can’t do anything about it” or “The computer is down we can’t ring you, so you have to leave the store.” Funny it seems like there was a time we operated as a society without any computers only 20 or 30 years ago. I mean it is not like I am trying to pay in rocks or fish like 100 years ago, but that is a whole different issue.

Let’s not even get started on cash or paper money. Heaven forbid you flash this vintage variety of paper payment these days. Heavens you must be a dinosaur! “We only accept credit cards”, umm last time I checked cash was a legal form of tender and could not be denied you idiots! However, Legal Tender refers to all U.S. coins and currency that issued by the government. U.S. Cash dollars are also a valid form of legal tender. Nonetheless, federal statutes do not require a seller to accept cash as a form of legal tender for payment of goods or services that were rendered, which I do not remember changing, clearly the Mendala effect is alive and well. I mean WTF? When did this shit happen?

Upon traveling I recently visited a very large local southern antique fair, and was surprised by the amount of signs for vendors not excepting cash. “Only cards, Venmo or Zelle”. Now that is truly a sign of our times, considering Venmo and Zelle is how most hookers and drug dealers get paid these days! I find it humorous to watch all my Facebook friends and who they pay, I call that total entertainment! I know one guy that does not even hide his drug & hooker payments, using smart ass comments like “dat ass” with comical eggplant & peach emojis and ” Tokin” with green plants emojis. Dude really?

Like I said the future is not bright, or maybe I am just old. I have also heard that “Those who stare at the past have their backs turned to the future.” Well maybe I am staring back at the past trying to figure out where we went wrong. Everyone I see seems to only be staring at there phones, which is not doing us any good, and seem trust only in technology, to a fault. If the computers says it, then it must be true and there is no other answer. Boy are we in trouble when AI takes over, and it will because the mass majority of people a stupid and will let it, then we are screwed. No one verifies anything anymore, it is all blind faith in the written word of the internet. The Mendala effect (which I will write more on later) has gone crazy, and things have been re written every where; without proper proof you really have nothing.

It is like trying to have a discussion with a flat Earther, we have billions of pictures of the Earth from space, but they still believe the planet to be flat. Or the fact that global warming does not exist, well sorry that there is actual scientific data over the last 100 years. I have found in my life I am running across more and more people that have very one track, simplistic views on things much like this, which is mind blowing in itself, now it is starting to including the older generation too and I almost say things like “Okay Boomer”, but I do not want to be that person either. You all use technology, surf the internet for really dumb shit and yet have been fed ideals that are so mind numbingly outrageous your brain is dying inside your own skull. Tik Tok has literally broke your brain or did you just eat too many Tide Pods?

P.S. Do not even get me started on the huge invasion of privacy these glasses have become, we have neighbors that walk around recording homes with HOA violations in them and sending them off to the management company. Pervs watching sunbathers in bikinis at the pool and recording them along with other not so great things occurring with this “advancement in technology”. Conversations you thought were private that now are not, just because the person next to you is wearing them at a coffee shop or you had a 20 questions session with a nosy neighbor they posted on there social media account. Again just because you can does not mean you should.
