Have you noticed that people have just gotten ruder? For example, I have a friend, or at least I call her a friend… that talks all over the top of me. She never lets me finish a thought or a sentence, and it really drives me nuts. Now I know in the grand scheme of life this is not a huge offense. However it does make me feel as if nothing I have to say is worth her time, and technically it is a form of abuse and disrespect even if it might seem subtle. So maybe I am really not her friend at all?

Maybe I am just a time filler, so she is sad and alone, as she is aging up, her kids have all left home and she finds she is all alone. When they were once the center of her universe and her entire world only revolved around them. While I try to be empathic to this mega change of life for her, she is not alone in this transition, we have all been there. Our kids grow up, maybe we find we no longer have common ground with our spouses since we were “staying together for kids” or “we have nothing in common anymore” and life is changing. However does that make right to disrespect your friends?

Yes it is a disrespect! She will fire off 10 questions at me and I am trying to answering them don’t talk over me! You asked the fucking question! Did you actually want a fucking answer? Or are you such a narcissist you just want to hear yourself speak? Sometimes I think it is because I am southern, and maybe she just can’t wait for the actual answer or pertinent details of what I am saying. Maybe she has ADHD or lack of self control; that seems to be the main answer these days (or excuse) for most people, even though she is well into her mid to late sixties, maybe it is dementia or just impending death!

Please know it is not isolated to the old I also have some young friends in there 40’s with boundary issues too. As in we travel together and think we are like “sisters from other misters”. As in they use all of my personal hygiene products like my make up & skin care products. Umm girl I stopped doing that in 8th grade, when I got pink eye from your mascara, so no we are not doing this anymore. I do not even let my blood relatives use my shit, what makes you so fucking special? You have put every dick that passes by in your mouth so no, don’t use my lip gloss either I do not want your mouth herpes. Here you can just keep that shit now, which is why I never bring my nice stuff on vacay. THIS IS WHY I CAN NOT HAVE NICE THINGS!

Granted it is my fault for not setting better boundaries with these fuckers, and allowing them to walk over me in certain situations. Then when I stand up for myself, they all act like Chicken Little and The Sky is Falling, say I am mean and act as if I am the problem. Gaslighting the entire situation, but that is a symptom of the home they were raised in, and they just don’t know any better. Which I think is a common issue with the entire world to be honest. So many broken homes, lackadaisical parenting where they are self consumed which is passed on to the kids, ow they have grown into entitled adults that are the same but do not even realize it.

Another great example, was I was at the grocery store the other day, simply trying to park the car. The cart retriver for the store was two aisles over, and decided instead of taking the the carts down the aisle of the parking lot (which I believe is protocol) they would meander about 5 carts hooked together through the lot spaces. First of all this is ignorant, you are going to hit someone fucking car you asshat! Second, the parking spaces are for patrons parking, not pushing cart through! As I went to park I see her now headed my way diagonally through the lot, and yelling at me to move! I backed up and got out of the way, since I did not want my very nice car to get hit by a bargade of buggies. Then they continued to yell at me even after I moved out of there way….. what the fuck? ARE YOU AN IDIOT? WHY ARE YOU GOING THROUGH THE PARKING SPACES AND NOT DOWN THE CLEAR AISLE? RUDE! Yeah I get that it is hot, and the job is hard I did it when I was your age too, get over yourself snowflake!

In summary, I feel like as a society we have all gotten stupider, which is a shame. I had high hopes for us as a species. I think we all touch our assholes and probably smell our finger afterward to be honest, like primates, then post it on Tik Tok to see how many likes we get. We feel like we are entitled to the very best that life has to offer, but are not willing to actually work to get there. It should just be given to us, you know granny will just kick off any day and she is sitting on butt load of dough just wait her out. Because of this overall stupidity and ignorance we may or may not even know how really rude we have become; maybe a Miss Manners class needs to be required.
